Welcome to Plathville: Kim’s Confession Receives a Cold Reception
Welcome to Plathville mom Kim Path is eager to tell her daughters Moriah Plath and Lydia Plath about her new boyfriend. She is ready to move forward with her life. In order to do so, she tells her daughters that she is dating someone. But they do not take this news well. Their reaction rattles Kim because she was hoping they would be more receptive.
Welcome to Plathville: Kim Plath’s Shares Her Secret
Kim Plath sat down with two of her Welcome to Plathville daughters, Moriah and Lydia, for some girl talk. She says her daughters are more distant these days. So she wanted to catch up with her girls and tell them about her new boyfriend.
The siblings believe they are meeting with their mom for a gab session. So when Moriah asks the women what they have been up to, she is shocked. Kim takes her question as an opportunity to dive right into the business at hand. So she blurts out that she is dating someone.
The look on Lydia and Moriah’s faces speaks volumes, and it makes her uneasy. But she pushes through and attempts to explain her new dating status. She tells the girls she likes him and hopes for their support. But this news hits the Welcome to Plathville daughters like a ton of bricks. They are not thrilled with their mom’s news and let her know it.
Moriah Plath Speaks Her Mind
Kim of Welcome to Plathville knows her daughters need a little time to process this new information. However, Moriah speaks her mind. She tells her mother that she does not support her dating. She adds that she thinks it is a little too fast, and perhaps her mom should slow things down a bit.

Lydia remains silent for a moment and listens to what her sister has to say about it. During her confessional, she says that she is not prepared for this yet. She says in the past, her mom said that she would consider dating sometime down the road, in a couple of years.
The Welcome to Plathville sisters feel like their mom has sprung this on them too fast. There was no warning. Lydia and Moriah also hoped that one day, their parents might reconcile. But now they think that is out of the question because their mom is clearly moving on.
Welcome to Plathville: Kim Takes a Stand
Kim knew that having this dating conversation would not be an easy one to have with her children. But she says that while she respects their opinions, she will not let it stop her from seeing who she wants. She tells her daughters she is looking for happiness and that things are going well in her new relationship.
By the end of their conversation, the three Welcome to Plathville women, Lydia Plath, Moriah, and their mom, seemingly come to an understanding. But so far, she has yet to reveal to them that she is dating a family friend, Ken Palmer. She accepts that her children will need time to come to terms with her being with someone other than their dad.

She understands that some of her children may struggle with the changes more than others. But the Welcome to Plathville star, Kim Plath, will not let anything stand in the way of her finding love and happiness. But she hopes in time, Lydia and Moriah Plath will come to terms with the changes.
