Welcome To Plathville: “Cheating” Ethan’s No Prince Charming (But Olivia’s Not Exactly A Disney Princess)
Welcome to Plathville’s Ethan and Olivia Plath aren’t getting along, but Ethan shouldn’t take all of the blame. Both have made mistakes.
Welcome to Plathville‘s Ethan Plath said that he was “done” with Olivia Plath onscreen, and cheating rumors are painting Ethan as a villain, but is Olivia any better? Maybe not, as she’s caused problems that put their relationship on the rocks. It’s possible that these two “wholesome” reality TV show icons are actually stealth villains. While Ethan’s always had a “good guy” image, he does seem to have a dark side. Olivia looks like a princess, but she wreaks havoc like nobody’s business.
In Welcome to Plathville season 5, Olivia and Ethan are falling apart. Their marriage has always been troubled, and now, their problems have hit critical mass. During the ongoing installment, Ethan’s getting fed up with his relationship. He doesn’t want to go with the flow anymore. Ethan’s tried to make things work, but his patience is at an all-time low. In the past, he’s had trouble putting his feelings into words, but now, he’s really starting to unload. Ethan’s so frustrated that he’s willing to tell it like it is, in ways that he’s never really done before.
Ethan Used To Act Like Prince Charming
Ethan Plath’s Changed So Much Through The Seasons
Ethan used to be so sweet. He seemed like the ultimate companion. Charming and sincere, he had an “aw shucks” quality that was endearing. While there are flashier people out there, his simplicity was what made him seem so Prince Charming-esque. Like any Disney prince, he was fully devoted to his true love. He let Olivia do what she wanted, and put her happiness above his own. For example, when Olivia wanted to move to Tampa, he went along with it, even though it was obvious that he was more comfortable in Cairo, Georgia.
However, no Disney prince veers into bitterness, and that’s just what Ethan’s done. He’s angry, he’s had enough, and he’s not holding back. Ethan put Olivia on a pedestal, but she’s fallen off, and he’s acting accordingly. For once, he’s thinking about himself, and not a moment too soon, but that kind of selfishness doesn’t really put him in Prince Charming territory. Once, he got down on bended knee with a ring, but now, he’s so different. He’s not romantic at all. Watching Ethan unravel has been interesting, but sad. While reality viewers want drama, it’s quite hard to watch Ethan as he is now.
Life can change a person, and it requires some effort to stay positive and happy. Happiness is a choice that people have to make every single day. Right now, Ethan can’t be happy, and the recent cheating rumors seem to put him in a black hat, or some other type of dramatic Disney villain outfit. While his personality in earlier seasons was in keeping with Prince Charming from Cinderella, he’s now more like the egocentric villain Gaston from Beauty and the Beast.
When Ethan complains about his wife onscreen, he’s descending to the level of a typical Welcome to Plathville villain, Kim Plath. The famous matriarch’s known for criticizing others, and she definitely has an attitude. Kim’s feuding with everyone, including Olivia. Now, Ethan’s caught in the middle of those clashes, and he’s coming apart at the seams. In terms of his reputation, this season isn’t his best. He’s showing that he can fight as dirty as everyone else.
Olivia’s Not Exactly Cinderella
Olivia’s not a terrible person, but she’s far from perfect. She’s often too pushy, and sometimes, she doesn’t know how to pick her battles. She speaks out when people bother her, instead of waiting for the right moments. She’s gotten into some nasty arguments with others, She’s even feuding with her own sister, Sophia Meggs. Although Olivia would look divine in Cinderella’s sky blue dress, she might be a better fit for Maleficent’s horns.
She’s denying the cheating rumors, which came from Sophia, but her relationship with Ethan’s extremely turbulent. Olivia needs to take responsibility for some of their issues, but like a true villain, she does anything but. Everything’s someone else’s fault, whether she’s at war with Kim or someone else.
In the ongoing season, she’s put pressure on her marriage by openly dissing Ethan’s relatives. Putting down someone’s mother isn’t going to help a relationship survive. Although Kim’s a difficult person, she’s his mom. Accusing her of misusing Ethan’s credit card could only lead to disaster, even if her allegation’s true. Also, getting into it with his sister was such a mistake. Olivia apparently didn’t give Moriah the proceeds from the music that she’d posted online. Ethan hates all this aggression, whether it’s justified or not.
Neither side of this famous reality relationship’s coming across well during Welcome to Plathville season 5. That’s why it’s possible that both are villains now. Fame also plays a role here. Both are celebrities, and fame doesn’t always enhance a person’s character. It can actually damage it. Now that both are in the spotlight, they may have bigger egos. Getting along may be harder because fame has gone to their heads. Ethan may feel that he deserves more because he’s a celebrity, and Olivia may have the same thoughts.
This fairytale romance started strong, but Ethan and Olivia’s bond eroded. There were too many forces acting against the duo. Also, their own flaws kept them from being happy. While they haven’t announced a split, based on what’s happening in the season, their future doesn’t look bright. However, a divorce might be for the best. “Villain” Ethan was spotted holding hands with a brunette in a bar, and he hasn’t been posting about Olivia online lately. Olivia’s getting cryptic online, and isn’t exactly spelling out her current relationship status.
It feels like a split is imminent, but right now, there’s no proof that Ethan and Olivia have called it quits. However, their basic incompatibility’s an ongoing issue. In a villain power move, Olivia once asked Ethan for a temporary separation, and he was super-stressed by her “temporary separation requests.” Now, the Welcome to Plathville season 5 star’s releasing rage that he may have been storing up for years.
