90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way star Shekinah Garner keeps her Instagram private because of Sarper Güven. Shekinah, 41, and Sarper, 43, currently star in season 5 of the 90 Day Fiancé spin-off. After having met Sarper on a dating app while on vacation in Turkey, Shekinah felt a connection so strong that she moved in with him. Shekinah was working as an aesthetician and events host in Los Angeles and had a thriving personal life, which she sacrificed for Sarper. However, Sarper wants Shekinah to give up her Instagram as well, while he refuses to make their relationship Instagram official.
The fact that Sarper was being strange with Shekinah when it came to revealing their relationship on social media was first brought up by her sister Shariyah in 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way season 5, episode 8. Shariyah believed Sarper’s authority had an impact on Shekinah because she couldn’t post on social media like she wanted to. Shekinah revealed that Sarper refused to post anything about their relationship on social media because he was worried about her getting a lot of DMs from different women saying what a player he is.
Sarper Wants To “Protect” Shekinah From “Some Psychos”
Shekinah planned on waiting and talking about it right when she got to Turkey, which she did. Sarper and Shekinah sat down for a chat at the Grand Bazaar. He said he was trying to protect Shekinah by not posting about her. “They want to know what I’m doing. They will stalk you,” he said. Sarper admitted he may have slept with 2,500 women, but some of them were “psychos” who were “tracking” him. Sarper was sure that these women would stalk Shekinah. “If she’s not private, it will always [be a] problem, and there’s no need for that,” Sarper explained to the cameras.
Shekinah Knows It’s Because Sarper Is A “Player”
Shekinah suspected Sarper was hiding something. “Why should I have to change my account because you can’t make it clear to people that you’re in a relationship. You need to post,” Shekinah insisted. The single mom had dealt with similar men who were controlling. Men ask women to do this so other women they were seeing couldn’t creep on her page and see the posts they had liked. “They always wanna hide relationships so they can continue to be players on the side,” Shekinah explained. Shekinah mentioned how Sarper had “slept with 1000s of women,” so she wasn’t going to fall for whatever Sarper wanted her to do.
What Does Shekinah Hide On Her Private Instagram?
Shekinah did make her Instagram private and still is. Sarper and Shekinah also have a joint Instagram account together, and are showcasing their relationship from episodes from 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way. Shekinah posts about Sarper on her Instagram and even pinned their “couple goals” Reels to the top of her profile. She has selfie videos, clips and photos of her glamorous friends, and even workout videos. Shekinah may have chosen to keep her private life private because she loves Sarper and wants to honor his wishes.
