Congratulations! Janelle & Meri Defeating Kody & Robyn to Win Ownership of Coyote Pass
On this season of Sister Wives, Meri and Janelle Brown have finally realized how often Kody cheats them out of family finances. They’ve both paid into family accounts for years and received very little in return.
Now, it’s time to take legal action and protect their own interests.
Janelle Brown Legally Protects Herself Against Her Ex-Husband
During Sunday night’s new episode of Sister Wives, Janelle admitted she hired a lawyer over the Coyote Pass debacle. The TLC star dropped the bombshell on a video call with Christine Brown and Maddie Brush.
“OK, so I was going to tell you, yeah, I actually hired a lawyer,” Janelle confessed. “I found one, and I’ve put the retainer down, and, basically, I’m just going to be going for separation of assets.”
In a confessional, she expresses annoyance over Kody’s unwillingness to communicate. More than anything, Janelle just wants to sell the property and be done with the situation.
She also shared Kody said he was “speaking to the right people,” which demonstrated serious red flags. Failing to lawyer up just wasn’t an option.
On Instagram, viewers felt bewildered that Kody was behaving so childishly over the property division.

Sister Wives viewers wrote:
- “Should be divided THREE ways! Robyn and Kody are one singular share being legally married!”
- “When the veil comes off, and the eyes are finally open, it’s amazing what you can see. And that’s what happened with the OG3″
- “Can’t believe Meri doubted you about this.”
- “Didn’t Meri & Janelle put money into Robyn’s house too? When do they get that back??”
Meri Brown Decides To Take Legal Action Too
Although Janelle Brown was the first to suggest they lawyer up against Kody and Robyn, Meri finally admitted it was a wise move. After some prodding from her friend Jenn, the reality star realized Kody and Robyn weren’t going to split the property amicably.
He now considers his ex-wives “nags” and repeatedly dodges their attempts to communicate.
“I just got two ex-wives who were total nags, now nagging still,” Kody grumbled during a confessional. However, Meri wasn’t about to accept that without a response.
“I guess the thing is since he had decided he was already out of the relationship, and since he never loved me anyway, I think any communication at all would be considered a nag,” she replied in her own confessional.
