Sister Wives – What Does Kody Brown’s New Ring Mean? (He’s Not Wearing The Claddagh Ring Anymore)
Sister Wives patriarch Kody Brown wore a bold new ring during his meeting with Meri and Robyn Brown. What does the piece of jewelry mean?
Sister Wives star Kody Brown met with Meri and Robyn Brown, and when he did, he was wearing an interesting new accessory. His bold ring stood out, and as Meri explained her plan for moving out of Flagstaff, she couldn’t help but comment on his bling. While Kody didn’t say much, what he didn’t say spoke volumes. Kody’s changing, and even Robyn Brown’s noticed the difference. The ring’s a symbol that marks another milestone in his journey.
Sister Wives season 18’s about change, and change is hard. However, sometimes, when negative patterns are broken, there’s freedom. Something new emerges from the void, and life opens up. While change is making the show’s cast members uncomfortable, except Christine Brown (she’s definitely gracefully leaping into the unknown), it’s necessary. The Brown family was in a holding pattern that wasn’t getting anyone anywhere. Robyn and Kody were a united front, and the other wives were left by the wayside. Now, Meri’s ready to mimic Christine’s leap of faith, but she’s more hesitant than Christine, who never does anything halfway.
Kody’s Ring Doesn’t Bode Well For Meri
This season, reality show star Kody’s talked about his bond with Robyn, and the fact that he decided to wear that piece of jewelry to a meeting with Meri sent disturbing signals. While he was willing to wear a new ring around Meri, which he surely knew she’d notice, he wasn’t willing to talk about what the piece of jewelry meant to him. The fact that he would flaunt it, but wouldn’t explain its meaning, seemed like a shady power play.
Quite often, Kody plays with Meri in this way. He says he doesn’t want to hurt her but then does exactly that. Why couldn’t he just talk about the ring? By staying silent, he let her imagination wander. Of course, she’d assume the worst, based on her history with Kody. One important detail is that Kody’s wearing the new ring in place of the Brown family Claddagh ring, By swapping the ring that represented him and all of his wives, he seemed to be showing everyone that he’d changed, and that the new ring was all about Robyn.
Obviously, when he took off the Claddagh ring and put a new one on, he was breaking a family tradition. Maybe it’s time it was broken. Kody’s been living a lie. If the new ring’s about his commitment to Robyn and only Robyn, and he’s keeping that information secret, that tells a story.
Since he’s been gushing about his “romantic tension” with Robyn this season, and lamely trying to shield his wives from that electric connection, the jig is up. No one is fooled, and other wives are running away because they don’t want to live like that anymore. They want to live for themselves, and for people who really care about them.
Kody’s ring’s grand in terms of size and scale, it’s almost like he chose it just so everyone would notice it immediately. He could have gone for a design that was more subtle, but he probably bought one of the biggest rings available. While it’s not encrusted with diamonds or anything like that, it stands out. He’s getting bolder about Robyn, although he whines that they’re not allowed to show their love in front of the other women. With that in mind, this ring’s probably his way of saying, “This is my wife. Robyn’s my true love.”
The issue is that he’s still stringing along Sister Wives season 18 stars Meri and Janelle. With Meri, he’s making wild suggestions to prevent her move out of Flagstaff, including a kooky “Barndominium” option that she instantly rejected. He took Janelle out for a “first date” experience that started out strong, but ended on an awkward note. Things went south because she could feel that something wasn’t right. Everyone can feel it. Kody loves Robyn, and there’s a ninety-nine percent chance that the ring he’s wearing’s linked with her in some way. It’s not just something that he puts on to feel stylish.
