Sister Wives’ Meri Brown Agrees with BFF Jenn About What Caused the Demise of Robyn Friendship (Exclusive)

Meri Brown and her best friend, Jenn Sullivan, are speculating about what caused the downfall of her friendship with her former sister wife, Robyn Brown.

In PEOPLE’s exclusive sneak peek at the upcoming return of Sister Wives, the reality star, 54, reflected on her friendship with Robyn, 46, and how her relationship with their shared husband (and Meri’s now-ex, Kody Brown) tore them apart.

“There’s so many people that are like she was a fraud, she was a liar, she was manipulating,” Meri says of Robyn before she calls out Jenn for giving her “the look.”

Jenn denies passing judgment on the situation but tells Meri she’s being “cautious” and protective.

“I don’t think it was like intentional manipulation,” she says as Meri agrees. “I do think that Kody decided that he had this new person that was this new insider with him, and then it just became them against everybody else.”

Jenn continues, “She’d act like she was your best friend, and then completely ignore you and hurt your feelings. Like that’s really f—ed up. Like either be an asshole or don’t.”

In a conversation with the cameras, Meri admits that her relationship with Robyn “was a good one, and I felt very solid in it.”

“We were very close. And then it started, there was a divide,” she adds.

Within a span of 14 months, three of the Sister Wives patriarch’s marriages imploded. Kody’s third wife, Christine Brown, was the first to leave in November 2021. A year later, in December 2022, it was revealed that he had separated from his second wife Janelle Brown. A month after that, his union with first wife Meri was confirmed in January after the pair’s relationship had been platonic and distant for years.

After Christine and Janelle left the Brown family’s plural marriage, Robyn begged Meri to stay before she decided to walk away. Robyn is now Kody’s sole wife.

During a July 2024 episode of The Sarah Fraser Show, Meri admitted that she was unsure about Robyn’s true feelings and if she was really sad to see her go.

“I don’t know. I don’t know,” she said at the time. “I think that she did want me to stay. I feel like that she was sad. I feel like that she had this idea, when she came in the family, of, you know, this big plural family. I really think that.”

However, Meri confessed that “things were not matching up either” when it came to Robyn’s behavior, and the same was true with Kody. “There was a lot of confusion, let’s just say.”

Sister Wives returns Sunday, April 20 at 10 p.m. ET on TLC.
