Sister Wives’ Christine Brown pokes fun at Kody after he says his children have ‘betrayed him’
During the all-new Sister Wives season, Kody Brown airs his thoughts on where he stands with some of his children today. It’s no secret the Brown family has been through its fair share of ups and downs since Sister Wives first began. Over the course of 14 years, Kody married four wives and welcomed 18 kids.
Things for the polygamous brood appeared to be swell at times. But, as of late, the family appears to have fallen apart, with three of the four of marriages breaking down. Christine Brown is now debuting her new relationship with David Wooley on the show. More dynamics are changing on Sister Wives in season 19 as Kody navigates attending awkward family events with Robyn and Janelle moves thousands of miles away.
Kody Brown’s ‘rift’ with kids
Sister Wives star Kody Brown previously told ET how he’s a “flawed individual” after his son, Gabriel Brown, said his dad “forgot his birthday,” last year.
The TLC star reportedly had a “strained relationship” with some of his kids during Sister Wives last season.
Now, season 19 sees some explosive scenes as Kody tells Robyn he “hasn’t abandoned” his adult children, adding: “They’ve betrayed me, inadvertently maybe.”
Robyn tells her husband she feels she’s “losing respect for him,” and defends his kids: “I don’t understand why you’re not reaching out to them more.”
Speaking to cameras, Kody tells of how his family is “in a weird place,” adding: “The struggles that we have had have been so foreign from what our family was.”
Kody explains how some of his kids “wouldn’t even talk to him” at a wedding they attended, and expresses to Robyn: “They can have me, they just don’t need to treat me like cr** to get me.”
Christine and Janelle get sarcastic
This October, Christine and Janelle Brown explain to Access Hollywood how they’re remaining “sister wives” despite no longer being in relationships with Kody.
The two reflect on the season 19 scenes, and things turn sarcastic when they’re asked about Kody’s relationship with some of his kids.
The interviewer tells the ladies how Kody said there’s a rift between him and his kids because of “rumors,” and asks for their opinions.
Janelle airs their thoughts before Christine pokes fun with her comments: “They have these things, I don’t know if you’ve heard of them, but you put them up to your ear and you can actually talk to people…”
Janelle chimes in: “You can be around the world, even.”
“And they all have them… these devices that you can hold here or here…and so does he…”
She adds: “I’m in charge of the relationships I have, he’s in charge of the relationships that he has and I think he forgets that.”
