90 Day Fiance: Wayne Comes Clean to Holly About His Crypto Crash
esThis week’s 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way’s episode Tales From the Crypto, main focus was on South African plumber Wayne Cornish and his fiance Holly Weeks. The couple who met on a Jehovah’s Witness dating site is now living together after Holly made the move from Utah once they got engaged.
90 Day Fiance: Holly Weeks Wants Wayne Cornish to Buy Her Dream Home
There have been multiple break-ins at Wayne Cornish’s residence, and this terrifies Holly Weeks. This is the main reason she now wants to move to another house in a gated community. While they are searching for a new house, we find out that Wayne has been hiding new secrets about his lack of finances.
Holly Weeks told the real estate agent that she was looking for a house at the price of $4 million in South African rand. Based on the conversion of this price into American dollars, it is equal to $211,000. Due to Wayne Cornish’s dissatisfaction with this price, he reminds Holly just where she is at. “What are you talking about? We are not in the USA. We are in South Africa,” he exclaims.
Wayne was blown away by this figure, which she seemed to conjure out of thin air. In contrast, the house they looked at was a fourth of the price and still out of Wayne’s budget.
Holly explains that if she buys a house, that she wants it to be her “Dream Home.” She had a list of expectations for her ideal house. Wayne explains his concerns in his confessional about currently not being about to provide for Holly the way he thought he would.
Wayne Lost 40k In Crypto Bets
When it came time to talk about what this 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way couple can actually afford, Holly was in for a shock. Wayne admitted he didn’t have the funds to purchase a new home and hadn’t been transparent about the state of his plumbing business. “I don’t have any money saved because I wasn’t planning to buy a house yet,” he said. “I said I could provide for you, right. That was before I lost my contracts.”
Wayne explains what really drained his bank account. “I’ve pumped about 40K into this — into crypto,” he said. Wayne told cameras it was a “large sum of money that I put in. I was thinking about our financial future. You know, if this goes where I want it to go, we’re sorted for life.”
This confuses Holly because she wasn’t aware of this large sum crypto betting. She says she is willing to support Wayne every day in their problems, but she needs to know what is going on. It is still unclear how much money he has. Could there be even more he is not telling her?
This 90 Day Fiance Dream Is Turning into A Nightmare
Holly knows nothing about Wayne’s finances and only now learned he has no savings, put his money in Cryptocurrency, and lost a major work contract. Holly also never commented on her financial situation or career goals in South Africa, as she appears to be completely dependent on Wayne.
She was a barber in the US. It doesn’t seem that she thinks she is asking for too much in her eyes. So it seems like either Wayne was never truthful about his finances, or she has always had unrealistic expectations.
For Holly, this was a puzzle piece that explained why he’d been opposed to scheduling a honeymoon. “So you took our honeymoon money and put it in crypto? I gave up a lot to be here. I bought my wedding dress.” She continues, “I bought my plane ticket. I spent over $5,000,” she said.
Holly seems to be trying to make her “American Dream” come true in South African with Wayne and it far from it. In next week’s preview we see him driving off and leaving her barefoot in the street. Will this end up being a 90 Day Fiance Nightmare.
